After a couple of deal backouts on my Grammodes, I decided to sell them to my lfs for a measely $45 in store credit. They have to go because my Dovii is trying to kill my male and I can't provide them they're own tank.

The female has always been in another tank but I decided to risk putting them together in a 28g temporarily. The good news is they didn't kill each other. The bad news is that now I have about 200 fry with no where to put them. I've got a spare 20g-long I could set up but don't really want to deal with it and that wouldn't hold many fry for long anyway.

Today was supposed to be the day I took them in but now I'm putting it off again. It seems they weren't meant to be gotten rid of.

A lot of hobbyists find it hard to breed them due to aggression. Your pair wants to stay with you :)

The female is more aggressive than the male and her attacks are fast and furious lol.

really nice fish man if there is ANY sign of aggression seperate them immediatly if possible, I know you would hate to lose either of them

Most of the aggression is them defending their fry from the fish in the tank behind them. I put a background on it for the pics.

How big is the pair? I could take them for you depending on the price if you would be willing to ship.

Sorry I don't want to ship. Thx for the offer. :)

The male is 8.5" and the female is 6".

I'm in pain reading this thread. I would kill for a pair of grammodes let alone a pair that big and have nice coloration. Its impossible to find grammodes by me. I've even tried special ordering from 5 lfs. My only option would be to order from a vendor, but im not a fan of getting fish shipped to me. I don't trust the postal system.

I too wish I had a breeding pair of Grammodes esp at that size...Did the they ever breed in the Dovii tank?

Grammodes are pretty rare in my area too. I really wish I could set up a tank just for them. I spent a lot of time and care growing these two out.

Only the male was in the Dovii tank. I kept the female in another tank to prevent breeding. I was trying to get more growth out of them and always heard breeding slows down growth. It didn't take long for them to pair up once together though.
