Hey everyone have a chance to get some grammodes tomorrow, was wondering if a 90 gallon tank is big enough to support one male. Guy told me the male should be around 4-5 inches. I also have a male salvini at about 5 inches , who is a terror by the way, in the tank by himself right now. My plan was to switch all the terrain around, add some dithers and the grammodes at the same time. Can anyone recommend some nice active dithers for this setup. Advice is appreciated.

that's cichlasoma ornatum, i think there's only one guy with them in america. for dithers try silver dollars, giant danios or aussie rainbowfish.

What I do sometimes if I introduce a new cichlid into an aggressive cichlids established tank is rearrange the scape and take out the sal for a day or more (if feasable) let the grammodes establish some territory and put the sal back in.
The grammodes may end up being the aggresser, you never know.
Before you do anything you may want to just give the gramodes a trial run in the 90. Just see what happens and keep a close eye on them, you will probably know right away.

Grammodes can hold their own prety well, I have a pair in my pond with much larger Am. hogaboomorums and they do fine. Ken

For a 5" Grammodes i wouldn't recommed those two as dithers. Unless they are full size larger Rainbowfish then maybe. My Grammodes ate or killed any Rainbowfish i've added to the tank from 3-4". While the Grammodes was 5" itself. I haven't tried Giant Danio's and may not.
