A couple pics of my small Grammodes - about 3", it is pretty amazing how the colors are different with different flash setups!

(overhead flash in a bounce box + onboard flash and 1/16th power)

(straight overhead flash + onboard flash at 1/4 power)

When do they start spawning typically?

It's usually when there is a pair present! LOL Same fish, different angle. This one is between 3" and 4", still a baby in my estimation, I just can't believe the color that this fish has at such a small size!
