So I decided to order both of these foods. What would be a good feeding schedule for my 7inch FH? Should I feed once a day a mix of both or break it up into two meals? How many pellets should I give at a time? There really tiny pellets.
I have home his first taste of both today, just to make sure he liked it, and of course he did lol. I gave him 6 Red and 9 regular. Total of 15 pellets. Would this an ok amount to feed 1x a day or should I feed twice a day? If I feed twice a day how many pellets each feeding? If it was me, I would start by feeding the regular Grand Sumo. You will probably notice the blue pearls become very shimmery and almost reflective. When I feed Grand Sumo thats what I notice. I would feed that food every day for several weeks with bloodworm and cooked finely chopped shrimp once a week. Then I would switch to the Red version and feed that food exclusively for the next two months with weekly cooked shrimp and bloodworm. I have heard very mixed reviews on Grand Sumo Red and I have never used it. I am curious to see what your results are with the Red formula. Keep me updated please.
Great info. Thank you.I always feed my adults twice a day. When Im grooming a juvenile ill feed them three times a day. I feed them as much as they will eat over a few minutes. When it comes to pellets fish won't really over indulge that much. If you put too many pellets in they will often just ignore them or they will eat them and then expel most of it out of their gills. Now obviously that is not good for your water so that needs to be thought about. That is not the case with cooked shrimp or bloodworm. Those two foods they will eat until they become very bloated and give themselves indigestion. My adult 8.5 inch Magma will easily costume 30 Grand Sumo pellets in a meal. He is not bloated, overweight, or sick. The biggest issue you need to be concerned about with feeding is making sure the waste the fish produces is removed by strong filtration, water changes, and gravel cleanings.
My threshold for spending on food is $10.00 per 100 grams. I prefer to be around $6.00-$8.00 per 100 grams. You just need to make sure you buy from a dependable source. They are a lot of fake products out there that are made to look like genuine Grand Sumo. But at the end of the day, if you have a small amount of fish to feed then even if you spend a little more on food its ok because it lasts for several months.Have you noticed a color difference in your FH? I'm debating on buying this to mix in with my FHs diet but nervous to shell out that kind of cash for some fish food lol
It's been about two weeks since I've been using both Grand Sumo Red and Grand Sumo. I will say the Grand Sumo Red has definitely brought out a more vivid red coloration. As for the Original Grand Sumo I'd say it's too soon to see any real growth, but my fish seems to love this food. The 550 gram jar is s huge! Lol it will last a long time so in the end I'd say it's well worth it. I got mine from Amazon. The seller was I think PetzoneSD.Have you noticed a color difference in your FH?
