Granite Knifefish

At the LFS where I work we have a granite knifefish. It is very shy and thin. It's shaped more ovular than pointed. Its not as pointed looking as a BGK. Its face is also more rounded in the front than pointed (like a GK). It doesn't appear to be closely related to the African Knife either.

It's like 20 dollars. I am wondering if anybody knows what this could be.

Sounds like a Centipede Knife (Steatogenys duidae)...? There are other possibilities, but it sounds like the same body shape as a Centipede. Pictures would help. Otherwise if you would describe the color pattern, that would be great.

Not a centipede knife, we actually had some of those around the same time. I will try to get a picture of it, or I might just buy it.

That was the same pics that PeeWee posted before. I've seen them popping out of my LFS as well. It coincidentally that they are being found in many LFS around the world now.

i think i seen one of these at a lfs... they had it listed as an african knife, but its body structure and face were different...kinda like the Centipede Knife, but like a stone gray...it was like $10 i may go and buy it as it looked cool...

So I went in today to get a picture and it had died. It was in some plants and heavilly obstructed, so I couldn't get a picture. Any information on these is still more than welcome!
