I have some left over wood from a bearded dragon I used to have. I think it is grape vine. Can i use it in my tanks? Thanks

Most will say no, but I would like to experiment in a barrel of water just to see if it will work.
Reason why is I bought some driftwood from a LFS that told me it was aquired locally. My particular piece to me, it is identical to grape vine, shape, size, texture, everything! It's been in my tank for over a year now and no problems. Though no one can tell me for sure it is grape vine.
I would experiment in something without fish first. I am going to but I just haven't had the time to get a piece and soak it.
