Just wanted to let you guys know that I saw grass pickerel for sale on www.aquabid.com today. If you want an oddball native predator, now is your chance. Under native fish.
They remain stationary most of the time. Therefore you could get away with a bit shorter tank. I would say a 75 gallon would be OK. I had mine in a 125. They did well in the 6 foot tank.
the person that is selling it, I believe is ksiaquatics and he is a regular at the MFK Buy/Sell section. He's a very good seller and has bowfin from time to time (it's seasonal)
An outfit called Kv aquatics, I think that is right, is selling them on Aquabid.
Don't know much about their pickerel, but I did get some mud minnows from them. Couldn't have been happier with the fish or the srevice.
The pickerels are being sold by Brian Zimmerman he sells on aquabid, nanfa.org forums and his website http://zimmermansfish.com/index.html I got my pickerels from Brian last year.
