Grass Pickerel/Redfin Pickerel...

I have a quick question can a grass pickerel or redfin pickerel be housed in a 55g for life if there is only one? And could I keep a pleco with it? It would be a L200 Green Phantom... I read in someones post that they had a grass and it killed one of their pleco. That's kind of an expensive meal lol. Thanks again....

55 is not recommended and i would say it is minimum i would rather move up to a 75 or bigger

i thinke they could be fine in thier for life if it is just on. the pleco might have to be bigger when you get them but in the future the pikerel might take him donw. L200 are awesom plecos if have a another tank i would get one. But they dont really clean the alge off the glass

Ok thanks I can do a 75 not a big upgrade I think i saw that somewhere before... Do you think it would be ok to do the pleco?

I know right lol thanks... Ok so ill make sure to stay away from that. Do you know of any foods to help bring out his color a lil more he eats algae waffers, carnivore pellet's as treat and the occasional piece of shrimp or fish...

L200 are some of the best plecos i thinke. i feed mine alge wavfer, zukine, some times he will scavang foe blood worm. But i never see me really do a good job eating agle of glass. they are more omnivores. i thinke you will be okay. let me know in you need anymore help on your L200!

I wouldnt do a 55g, I'd say 75g minimum. The pleco needs to be bigger than the pickerel or he WILL eat it. My 6in pickerel ate my 3in clown pleco. Anything less than half their size WILL be eatin. Now the only thing he lives with is a 5in bichir.
