Grasshoppers... they love'em

I have fed my fish grasshoppers three times in the past two weeks and they have been killing them. I'm talking about like 3" grasshopper too... they love these things!!! Except for my Red Isletas, who will only eat Hikari Pellets and NOTHING else. They wat everything... even the wings. My old fish... Jag, RD, JD and Butti would eat grasshoppers all the time, but this is the first time I have fed them to my current stock. Has anyone fed them frequently to their cichlids?? I will like feed them to my fish once a week until they are gone for the season... what do you guys think?? I heard they have lots of protein?? Anyway, it is pretty cool watching these guys eat these things... they really love them.

I'm catching them, however I'm going out a ways to make sure they come from a field... as to watch for chemicals and what not.

Sounds like a good source of steroids for fish to get them to grow quick

Thank you and I hope these guys start to put on some more girth... they are all close to 10" and I'm sure their length will slow down now, but I hope the get really thick!!!

i've never fed grasshoppers but i do buy a dozen crickets every once in a while for a treat and they go hay wire for them

i always like feeding night crawlers because of their protein content. My pike got massive while eating them

I fed a few crickets too... love'em the same. I fed night crawlers every week already... I'ma try to feed both them and the grasshoppers at least once a week. They also eat massavore at leas three times week too. I hope they get real thick off this here diet I'm trying.
