Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this topic, but I'll post it here anyway

Can anyone give me some gravel or stuff from an established tank so that I can cycle my fish tank faster?

Please help me if you can. I live in Rosemead 91770, Socal. I can drive to pick it up if it's around the area.

I would try the classified section. An even better option is a cycled sponge filter... see if you can get one from a LFS too.

Filter media would be the optimal breeding ground for nitrifying bacteria; as apposed to substrate. You would still need an immediate ammonia source, in order to keep the culture sustained.

i have a sponge or two that i could change out.. you're welcome to them if you want to come to Riverside to get them.

Riverside is too far :( Thanks for the offer anyway. I just bought a bottle of nutrafin, gonna cycle with clear ammonia.

I've heard some negative things about the nutrafin product... haven't used it myself. My favorite is seachem stability. Also, people have success with tetra safestart.
