Just waiting for my new 250 to turn up and I have a very big bit of bogwood

This bit is just over 3ft long and nearly 30" tall and will sit at the back of the tank, now obviously once in the tank gravel vacing behind this is going to be tricky. So with that in mind I want to try an avoid as much gunk being able to settle behind it in the first place.
Filtration will be via a sump + eheim 2078 e.I have thought about having the 2078 return via a few jets just above the substrate with a couple behind there to stop any gunk being able to settle and hopefully push any detrious towards the overflow/weir.Does that sound like a viable idea.

Are you going to have sand?

I would suggest a powerhead pointed directly at the area you're worried about. Koralia evolution is my favorite brand I've used.

Yeah the subtrate will be sand, I really should have mentioned that in my original post.I had thought about using a powerhead but wondered if the tank would end up looking like a sand storm because of this, hence my idea ou running the 2078 output under the subtrate and using a number of jets palaced to keep detrious suspended until it get to the overflow. All of the filtration will be coming through the base of the tank via bulkheads.
Also one of the main requirments for this tank is to keep everything out of the display area.I suppose the powerhead could hide behind the stump.
I also think that there will be some mosses and anubis attached to the stump, overall the tank will be fairly well planted.

Powerheads could help...

I have several 30" + pieces and I usually just pick them up a bit when I gravel vac. I don't want anything seen in my display either, so I just lift, vacuum underneath and replace when finished. I kinda tilt mine to get under and behind it....
