I'm thinking about getting a Python gravel vac, but I have sand (Flourite in one tank, Colorquartz in the other) and I've heard that it sucks too much sand up. I'm also thinking about planting ground cover soon, probably baby tears.

Would the Python or a similar product be worth it in those cases? Or do people with sand and/or planted substrate do something else?
