should be fine just rinse it and make sure it is clean

So does Home Depot only have one type of gravel? How are you sure exactly what the OP is talking about?

OP, can you provide a brand or any details??.. maybe check their website for the product..

I know they have bulk rock in the outdoor section that looks like it would work perfect in a tank as long as you rinse it well

That may be true, but you should be sure before giving advice.. That's all I'm saying.. what you vision may be completely different than what the OP is talking about.. just playing it safe..

I've gone to rock quarries and just asked for pea gravel. They came in 50 lbs bags. Don't know if it's cheaper than Home Depot but I just washed it out and used it. No problems, The Doctor

I used the Home Depot pea gravel in the past with no problems .It was very cheap around $5-6 for a 50lbs bag. It did seem to be a bit larger grain size than the typical aquarium gravel. Also needs to be rinsed very well as it was quite dirty.
