Hey I just went to go look at buying gravel for my 125, I am looking for plain black and something fairly large, well the only thing i could find was a one lb bag for $3.49 and with the recomented one pound per gallon, that is like rougly $430 in gravel, is that acurate or do you guys have any other ideas as to what to do?

Im in jersey, 07470 if your near by I have over a hundred pounds of black gravel that I could sell off. PM me if interested.

I'm sure you can find it cheaper. They asell bulk bags in lfs, just have to look around. There's a place near me that sells 50lbs of black sand for $35.

washxawayxevil,
The reason I asked is because most northern states use crushed lime stone in highway building. You can also find anti-skid of the same origin in fine pebbles. The stone keeps the water alkyline and you can get matching rocks of varios sizes for free. Look around and ask permission if you find some. I like it better in the fish tank than bouncing off my car. ;) It works great for Cichlids. :D
