my 24" aro jumped two days ago, luckily I was there and was able to get him back into the tank as quick as possible. He was acting fine for the first 24 hours but last night I noticed he was losing color. I'm assuming his slime coat has been affected. This morning he is looking really bad. Very bland in color, and dry and scratchy to the touch.

Last night I did a 40 percent water change and bumped the tank heat up a little.
I tested the water this morning and the parameters are good.

I just need him to regenerate his slime coat...

any suggestion of good products I can use to boost this?

or any other suggestions of possible issues I may have missed, besides the slime coat.

Im really worried about him...

Sound pretty bad, water change 20% and add 0.3% salt, try to raise temperature to 30 degree celcius. Hope everything will be fine, monitor for any improvement.

just let the aro be.. fresh clean water.. just keep the temp stable.. good aeration.. and the slime coat will regenerate on its own.. you will be stressing the aro by touching it.. so don't.. your aro will be fine in a day or two..dim the lights if any.. and make sure your top is super secure..

Bummer. Mine jumped a few days ago when I opened the top to feed. sometimes you just can't be too careful. Mine is ok now.

The last time I had an Arowana jump out of the tank he died 2 days later. I opened him up to find out the cause of death. He had no external signs of damage other than loss of color. I dissected the fish and discovered he had two internal ruptures (hernia's) on his stomach(?) and intestines. One was a complete rupture and the other was bulging dramatically.

Your Arowana was 24 inches in size, he must have been about 2-3 year's old. That's tough! Sorry man.
