I just thought I would share this info for anyone who may be interested in joining a club in the DC area that are cichlid fishkeepers.
The Capital Cichlid Association has a fantastic guest speaker schedule lined up this year.
Starting tomorrow (March 10) Ken Davis will share his experiences from a trip to the Far East where he visited Asian fishfarms, the international discus show in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and the Aquarama in Singapore.
On April 14th, Ted Judy will share his expertise on The Genus Pelvichromis. Looking forward to meeting Ted in person. His talk on West Africans should be very interesting. He has spent many hours on the APF over the years.
May 12th we will have Mo Devlin (MoJo). He will be talking about New Word cichlids. I'm sure he will have some neat photos to share as well.
June 9th, the CCA will have Tim Nurse talking to us about his trip to Lake Tanganyika. I'm really looking forward to this one.
We take a summer break in July and August. But, we come back with a big bang with one of the premier speakers in the hobby.
September 8th, Ad Konings will discuss the feeding behavior of Lake Malawi Cichlids. What can I say.
And in October, not only will we have more than one speaker, but we will be having them speak at the Fall Cichlid Show. Speakers, fish show, auctions, banquet, and hospitality bar will be held for two days in Laurel, MD. Details to be announced.
Sorry for the cheap plug, but I am very excited about our club's speaker list this year. Our photography workshop last month was a success. And the guest speaker list is one of the best a local cichlid club could provide.
