Great I was going to get a green phantom(been planning for ages) an then I go ask my LFS if they can get any in. They said about not being able to get any because of them being rare in the wild and haven't seen any on the list for yrs. Anyway now I'm going choose another pleco. I know how big it can be because I planned for ages. So are there any plecos that stay between 6-8 inches.

No worries. I looked for one for 5 years finally bought one for $50 and now that I have it its like eh so so. They are really cool and unique because they aren't seen that often but when it is in your tank everyday the uniqueness fades. My favorite pleco is my rubberlip or bulldog pleco that I paid $2 for they are more common but they are fun to watch dart around the tank and I like their shape. I have been thinking of getting a second one.

yeah all my LFS stores have them. I took some interest into them

@ JackDempsey72 --- I didn't know that the Green Phantom Pleco was rare. I'm from NY, and I see them every once in a while at some of the specialty LFS I go to (not the chain stores like Petland Discounts or PetCo). Maybe they're just more rare in the UK.

@ Rivers2K --- I'm not bored by my Green Phantom. She likes to stay out of hiding quite often, and she's one of the first to make a dash for food when I feed my fish. Since I have 6 different Plecos in my tank, their uniqueness (all 6 of them) does not seem to fade.

Yeah I think with you and Rivers2k is that you live in America were its sort of close but I live thousands of miles away from where they can be found in the wild

You can always order it online(yes, there's the shipment risk but many people do it).

I don't think I'm gonna risk it as I am a bit worried about this pleco as they are like £50-£70. Wich is a lot of money where I live. Would a cubby pleco be good
