Hi all, this is my first post, but took a long time reading the forum. First of all, sorry about my english, I'm from Spain and my English is not too good. the fact is that I am passionate about sharks, dream for many years to have an aquarium with sharks and I think now I have the means and the space to do it. I am building a 500 gallon tank (aprox), and I will make a Mediterranean ecosystem, for ease and proximity to the sea and also because I am passionate about this ecosystem. My question is limited exclusively to personal experiences with the type of shark that I will keep, the greater spotted dogfish (scylliorhinus stellaris), is very difficult to find information on this species with regard to their maintenance in captivity, it is not a shark common in home aquarium, my question is directed to their behavior in captivity: feeding, hardness, compatible species, agression... any personal experience would be helpful. Thanks in advance to all, and great forum by the way! Cheers

So far they are great little sharks. As with most benthic sharks, they are more active after dark, but they do spend some time cruising before the lights go out. The most challenging part will be mantaining the water temps they need, however, they are in a 1200 gallon system with some chain dogfish.
