We all know that these monsters love to eat, but my question is: in your personal experience, what fish have you kept that are particularly greedy and steal the most food from other tank mates?

For me, my African Brown Knife is the worst--any time I stick a cube of tubifex worms against the side of the tank, he rips the whole thing off and swims into his cave with it. :nilly:

As far as amount of food consumed, my bet is on Oscars and Bullhead Catfish.
In any scenario, these guys will greedily consume any amount of food available, shoving the other fish out of the way to get to it.

My purple spotted goby has actually grabbed a feeder from my moray eel's mouth and pulled it out and swam away to eat it. That was only once though.

I'd say it's a toss up between my wrestling halfbeaks who will grab the food before it diffuses over the water's surface and swim away with it or my tatia intermedia who goes on blind feeding frenzies eating everything that crosses his path.

My female geophagus brasiliensis is a pig! She is always first to the food, and swims around avoiding all the other fish till the frozen block has become small enough to swallow in 1. She seems to do this, no matter how much she has already been fed!

Agreed my oscar was ravenous with live food to the point where he'd eat 10 goldfish @ 1'' and then he'd just rip the heads off the ones he knew he couldnt eat mind you he was 7'' then!!!

Crenicichla species.

Blind cave fish, Oscars, and the surprisingly gluttonous raphael catfish. If I didn't stop piping food into their mouths, they wouldn't stop ingesting it.
