guys,

i need your help on this one. since putting my pictus catfish into my 400L he has been eating TWO cubes of bloodworms a day that is supposed to feed my six angel fish, one clown loach, one bronze cory and two guppies. I spread the worms out, and he comes running out, and in one go sweeps everything into his mouth! then swims back into his cave and stays there! he is such a greedy monster!!! my angels, who are dainty and pretty, just swim about confused - one minute there are bloodworms everywhere, the next they are gone! how on earth am i going to make sure they are fed? before i put him in the tank, every night their bellies were full, and i felt so happy! but now...they only get a few bloodworms each if they are lucky. what should i do? feed more? cannot believe my pictus just sweeps by and everything is in his mouth in the space of two seconds.guys, help me before my juvenile angels are skin and bons lol.

come on guys, stop being shy lol. what should i do?

well if you cant tell the pictus is stressin everyone out so i say go trade him for some cory's or other slow moving passive cat.or set up another tank for the pictus if you want to hang on to him. but definitely remove the pictus thats the only way you angels will feel comfee again

try feeding freeze dried bloodworms or those tablets you stick to the glass and put it near the top my pictus wont leave the bottom 3rd of my tank

hmm my pictus has been with me for over a year and a half now, AND has survived whitespot about four times lol. so i can't get rid of him. he even tries to get the flakes, and he has claimed the area under the juwel filter box, so my god nugget can't swim under there or my clown loach other wise they get chased away. i think i might buy a 200L or something and put him in there. i've tried to substitute by feeding my angels in the morning with dried shrimp and flakes, and the pictus hates those so he comes out, but when he gets near them he just swims away. then i feed bloodworms at night so the angels manages to grab three or four each, and the pictus just eats the rest. also, if i feed pellets and those pellets that stick to the glass the angels try to eat it, but the pictus gets it anyway.the only thing he wont touch is pumpkin and courgette. thankgod for that, its the only thing my gold nugget will eat. he doesn't want anything else! my fish are so weird lol.

feed the pictus first with market shrimp or beefheart till he's full...then feed the rest of the crew frzn bldwrms? btw a cube of frzn bldwrms is mostly water..

Thaw your cubes in a cup of water first then put them in so they are evenly distributed in the water. I got piggies too!

yes, i put the cubes into a net and then just run water through them and spread them all over the tank, but the pictus is too fast, he just gulps everything down! i've hand fed my angels flakes and pellets before, maybe this time i will try to do it will bloodworms! might be a bit messy though...eurrrghhhhhh....but if it means them eating then i dont care.

If you are feeling meticulous, you can feed the worms with a spoon in very small quanities repeatedly. This allows the fish time to eat small portions every few seconds, instead of having a whole cube worth all at once. Maybe you can invest in a floating worm cone.
