Green algea?

Iv had my tanks running for over a year now. Iv had some hair algea. Diatoms always om my anubius. I'd love to grow some of that nice green algea.

I have some ceramic rocks/ caves. If I put them in a spare tank out side in some aqurium water for a while then put them back in the tank once the are covered would that be ok? Or would I run the risk of introducing somthing unwanted in my tank?

Possibly mosquito larvae if you don't cover the top of the tank.
