My husband was in Green Bay for business. I gave him a list, clearly listing 3 things I wanted him to buy from PetSmart: CaribSea Geo-Marine Aragonite Formula Florida CRUSHED CORAL (on-line for $12.99), 2 Aqua Clear Media bags size 200/55, and 50 gal. size of Oceanic Natural Sea Salt (also $12.99 online.)

The most important thing on this list was the crushed coral, and I made that clear to DH.

DH doesn't know a thing about fish, he always just hands my list to a clerk and they get the stuff. Well, he handed the Green Bay clerk the list and this is what he brought home:

Aragonite SAND!!! and a 25 gal. size of salt. OK, no biggie on the salt, and they apparently don't carry the media bags (didn't offer a similar product, though) but how does CRUSHED CORAL = SAND! :swear: DH questioned the clerk about the sand, clerk said it was the same  Imagine if I had wanted fish, say a guppy; he might of come home with an oscar! :screwy:

Oh, to top it off, he paid $35.00! WTH! They would NOT price match the on-line prices I guess.

So now I have this 15 pound bad of sand here that I can't use and I'm out $35. The stupid store is 3 hours away from me so I can't go in and b***h about it or return the stuff.

I'm hoping my LFS will do trade, sand for coral, but I doubt it because they don't even carry CaribSea.

I would be making a phone call. I think it is their corporate policy to price match.

Can anyone else in Green Bay read? LOL

OK, I just ordered the crushed coral from BigAl's, cost $16 and some change (that's including the shipping!) It just sucks that it will take a week to get here.

My father in law is going to Green Bay this Sunday, visiting his sister, and he said he will bring the sand back for me. I don't know if they will be open on Easter, though. Hopefully they will and I can get at least the $20 back for the sand (might as well use the salt.) As far as the price matching, well I really don't think it will be worth the hassle if I can get the money back for the sand.

Call the manager and b***h to them they will do something about it im sure of it. And milk the fact that you are 3 hours away, and it is going to cost you your time and gass to return the crap that they sold you!

If you complain, they will respond (hopefully in some free stuff :grinyes: )

crushed coral is ghey

aragonite was the way to go, props to that employee. agragonite does a better job at buffering and lasts longer

I know argonite dose a great job buffering, that's why I wanted the CaribSea crushed coral, it has a high level of argonite. I want to put the crushed coral in my filters and I can't really put the sand in a filter bag, I think it would clog up right away.

Hey now, there is no need to question the corals sexual preference. ;)

Yeah....from Green Bay! I dont go to any Petsmart or PetCo because theyre all frickin morons! Next time your husband is in Green Bay tell him to go to Animal Adventure Pets. They know what theyre doing there and will help you get anything you need! Its on Oneida St. if this helps at all!
