I have a 100 gal with fx5.. yesterday i changed 25-30% of the water because water is turning really cloudy with a tone of green... what can i do to clear it out?? i dont know what else to do.. :( some one help me please thanks

test kits three months old - everything is all good by the test kit ... water is just cloudy green.. media was rinsed out yesterday as well.

How long ago did you set all this up? Could just be a new tank bloom that needs to run its course and then be over with. If not, whats in that FX5 thats not doing its job? Can the tank be hit by direct sunlight and, what kind of lights are you using and how long per day? We'll get to the bottom of this!

yes
but a uv steriliser costs money
i have 2 power glos and 1 arcadia plant gro bulb and i have NE VER had green water problem.
you hvae to look at what is in the tank.
you an try this out, buy a couple of cheap plants from the shop, ask for the ones that grow the absolute fastest
chuck them in there for awhile or plant them - this will help kill and deplete the tank of nutrients for algae.

ou can get a product as well, very cheap, barley straw extract or something similar.

worse comes to worse... put a whale shark in there, they are fiter feeders and will drink the algae:D

if param's are fine, I assume it is an algae bloom.

UV is good.

I would add carbon, just in case.

My tank is going through this as well. I don't know why. I put a store bought agent in my tank today that is supposed to clear my water, but its not doing the job. At first I thought it was the lettuce I put in for my severum to eat that was coloring the water, so I went a couple of days without lettuce. Water is still cloudy with a hue somewhere between green and white. What is the problem?
