I had a breeding pair of convicts a few months back... since then i gave away the female, and put the male in my 86 gallon. Since then he`s coloration has gone crazy...
Jet black stripes on a very dark gray body... pretty normal, but now he has a large army green spot on the gill covers and some smaller one`s going towards he`s tail ( stopping mid body). If some just walked by the tank, they will prolly think he`s got algea growing on him.
Dont know the exact age of him, but he`a around 4-5 inches.... and a big hump
He`s a happy camper tho, no problems with health or anything :)
Is this normal for older convicts or just mine who`s a bit messed up ?

Edit : Sadly i can`t get the green( or the fish for that matter) to show up on my crappy cam phone

Without a pic there is no way to tell you anything...

Tried shooting some more pics, best i could do
The green color does not show very well in the pics

Why did you draw a penis on his face in pic1 and 2? jjk! He looks fine to me man.

does it look like some kind of fungus? but it may be that he is a xbreed but im not an expert

I`m not worried about he`s health, and i think he looks good too :)
Just that i never seen whats on my con, compared to the pics i`ve seen on here and on the net.
Just wondered if anyone else have seen it before, and maybe knew why he`s starting to "green" up.

I have one that shows yellowish greens when he gets netted....
