Hey there.

I've seen 3 of these at the pet shop, and theres just something about them that appeals to me. They remind me of how I though the Vampire Tetra would look before I actually saw a pic.

Anyway, I've asked, and the LFS called them a 'green danio.' They don't look like a danio to me, but I'm no pro. They're £3 a piece and googling 'green danio' yielded no results except for the GM danios.

Help me out here fellas:

Sorry for the bad pics, the LFS don't let you take pics, and the things wouldn't stop darting about so it was difficult to even get these!

Thanks in advance,
Paul

How large are they?
They could be one of the Devario species which are often grouped with Danios, maybe a Devario chrysotaeniatus?
Of course they also look a bit like the attentive carplet (Amblypharyngodon melettinus).

Just googled them, and it doesn't seem to look like either. They were atleast 3" long.

You can see it slightly on the first pic, but it actually has 2 dorsal fins. The smaller more pointy one is folded down in front of the other.

Thanks for the help so far Guppy,
Paul

I'll throw this out there - a rainbow fish? There are some danio-like species.

Just been googling rainbowfish to see if there was a resemblance. I found this picture, apparently a female New Guinea Rainbowfish. Looks very similar.

In a MFK'ers honest opinion, are they worth spending £3 on?

If you like them - go for it. It's not what it's worth, but how much you will enjoy them.
They look great.
