green dust algae problem

im starting to have some green dust algae problems (the green stuff on the glass). i read that if you wait 10-20 days itll grow thick and fall off by itself? is there any other methods to remove it?

I run a cleaner brush over the effected area's and then do a water change to remove as much as I can.

does that actually work? does the remaining algae stick back onto the glass after an hour?
