i have a divided 75 gallon tank. Today, I noticed that one side of my divided tank (approx 20 gals) has some green "dust particles at the bottom of the tank."
My water is extremely pristine. No junk floating or anything. The water is clear 100%. I changed the filter floss approx a week ago. I don't know how the green dust got there. My canister filter only flows to the the other side of my divider. Only a little current reaches the side with the green dust.
What's the cause? My fish are still perfectly healthy. I'm just afraid the dust will cause the nitrites and ammonia to rise.

Any experience?

what do u use for food for the fish in that tank and what colour is it? have u done any work to your house over the last week or so? does it stick to your tank or is it like sand?

This is a guess on my part, but could it be from scraping algae off the tank walls?

i feed my baby aro hikiri floating pellets. i do see him spitting some it out. Could the dust be some decomposing food? No work done in the house.
the dust particle will drift away if there is a large water movement.

hmm nah it would be orangy brown if anything from the pellets as i find with the hikari food. maybe throw a cheap pleco or other non aggressive bottom feeder to clean up what he spits out tho.
