Has anyone ever heard of these if so how big approximately can they get? My lfs ordered some for like 5$, i was thinking about getting a couple. Here is a link to the website, just hit control+f and search CICHLID PIKE GREEN

Crenicichla compressiceps. They only grow to about 4" and that would be an exceptionally large specimen. Most max out at 2.5"-3". They are also highly intolerant of each other. I would plan on at least a 55 gallon to keep two specimens together. Very easy to keep and feed otherwise. Not your typical pike in that they are relatively peacful with tankmates and don't eat other fish. For a pike they have a relatively small mouth. In the wild they eat small insects and crustaceans.

Males have striations on the anal and caudal fin. Females do not. Fairly easy to sex.

All in all a nice little fish. :)

I would add to Scat's advise only a bit: do not add fish that, while big enough not to be swollowed, the head is small enough to fit in the mouth of the pike. I lost a large group of ember tetras to my pair in that way.

Mine never started fights with other cichlids, but would finish them ... to the point of removing cichlids much larger than the pikes. Except with each other. One person I spoke with had a group of 6 kill each other off to a pair even in a 300 gallon.
