Green Eared Sunfish

I have one of these and was recently reading that they are a hybrid. Is this true? If so, with what two species. Thanks for your help.

I've never heard of "green eared" sunfish do you mean Green sunfish?

You can catch them any time except at night of course.

i know there are bluegill x green sunfish hybrids.. there's a picture in a thread here titled 'Whare are these guys' (or something like that)

Greengills(L. macrochirus x cyanellus) are a commonly stocked fish because they grow big fast and can still reproduce. They look good too! That might be your hybrid, Arial_Sky.
