I have one of these and was recently reading that they are a hybrid. Is this true? If so, with what two species. Thanks for your help.
 
if you mean green sunfish then i've got a few babies i'd be willing to try shipping, although fatherof5 has dibs if he contacts me.
 
dude its winter in NY can are there still sunfish out there?? I wanna try to catch some on my off time like now...
 
i know there are bluegill x green sunfish hybrids.. there's a picture in a thread here titled 'Whare are these guys' (or something like that)
 
Greengills(L. macrochirus x cyanellus) are a commonly stocked fish because they grow big fast and can still reproduce. They look good too! That might be your hybrid, Arial_Sky.
