This saltwater moray came into my store this week as an unidentified gymnothorax sp. Under blacklight and blue reef leds he fluoresces a super cool gold/yellow color. I've heard of fish like this in the wild but never in aquariums besides the man made glofish.

That's insane ?

Really wish my marine tank was more than 13.5 gallons right now…
I’d snatch that up in a heartbeat!
Reading it seems like it’s a natural fish, but very rare. Must have been trying to catch a regular green moray and picked up this beauty instead.

It's actually a dull brown with just the white lights on. Normally the species that shows up is the commonly sold as freshwater gymnothroax tile.

Pretty cool looking under that black light but I imagine long term exposure to said black light can't be good for the fish :)

That is certainly true. It will also glow under blue lights just like coral if I’m correct, which aren’t harmful.
