I've got a 45 tall.

Plenty of rockwork and drift to hide in.

Orange Severum
Green Severum
Jewel Cichlid
Convict Cichlid
Dragon Goby
Senegal Bichir

The goby is the largest.
Jewel Cichlid comes in second, with the bichir.(1.5 in)
Everybody else in the tank is the same size as eachother.(1.in)

Everybody seems pretty compatable so far.. the convict looks like he's 'testing' the other fish... particularly the green sev.
(Convicts only in there cause I can't catch her..)

Anybody have any opinions on what I got going on here?
(the tank will be upgraded when they reach the appropriate size. Right now they are in a grow out tank.)

Convict was captured. Everyone seems to be getting along quite peachy.

There has been no shows of aggression twards eachother.

The Green Severum took 1 nip at the bichir when i threw in a sinking wafer,
he simply took off with his food, and then i threw some pellets in, and the lil sev was no longer interested in what the bichir was eating.

I would upload some pics, but for the life of me I can't find batteries that work.

They were acquired through World of Fish in Minnesota. Fine specimens.
They had a great selection (even after the holidays!) and always a pleasure to visit. Should you find yourself in MN please take the time to stop.

I believe dragon gobies do best in brackish water. When you upgrade the tank, maybe you could leave the goby in this tank and up the salinity a bit

I come to find this out after I took them home.

Although, while reading, I've also found that they can adjust over time.

They were housed with Angelfish... so I guess I didn't even think to assume they were anything but freshwater.
I do plan on asking the store tomorrow whether the tank I bought him from was brackish.
(However, the brackish tanks in the store were clearly labeled.)

So, either the goby was already well adjusted to freshwater, or I have some adjustments to make myself!

I'm sure he was already in freshwater. They're always being kept that way when I see them in stores. He will survive that way, he just may not live as long

other than aggression issues from the jewel, the dragon goby is the only "problem" as it generally the case that the lifespan is much shorter in FW, although I'm sure there's exceptions

The jewel has been the dominant one showing himself, but the sev's have found some pretty sweet hiding spots. I've seen a little bit of chasing from the jewel, but nothing too serious (like fin-nipping or lip locking)
The jewel doesn't seem to mind the bichir at all. No one does, really.

The jewel will be the first one moved.. He'll be with a jack dempsey pair around 6-7 inches and a much larger bichir.
