Green Phantom Breeding L200

I am here to ask who's got info on Green Phantom Breeding. I have been scouring the threads for the past week with not much luck other than this looking for blue/green breeding:

I would love to make an attempt to breed these instead of bristle nose, I currently have the ability to acquire L200's in numbers and dont want to miss the chance as these are not always available locally, took a year wait to get the one I currently have.

How many should you have for a realistic attempt? I have the option to resell them to the fish store if the are not sex-able at the time after they grow out.

The only information I have come by is that the successful attempts are made essentially after the breeders have given up. Both posts mention lack of water changes a ph 6.5+ and higher temperatures. Wild capture reports also have reported water temps of 32 C/ 90 F. Does anyone believe this has any bearing or have tired to induce this way previously?

Anyone that can point me in the right direction or provide any additional information would be awesome!

Also suggestions or input otherwise would be great! I am aware that this is not likely to be a fruitful endeavor. I have fallen in love with this breed since purchasing and would rather fail in breeding Green Phantoms than succeed in breeding my Lemon's out at this point. I will always have the option of finding Lemon's locally quite easily whereas the Green Phantoms would require a 4 hour drive (8 hr round trip) any other time, not trying to do that with $$$ in fish when I got the hookup for $30ish each at the LFS currently.

They are not, very close friends of the aquatics manager and can bring them in special for me for near wholesale.

Typically you would want at least 6 in a group. More can be better but not always depending on which species. Usually males take care of the eggs/ fry.

Often females will be rounder when you see them from above. Need a bunch of caves, typically they like smaller than larger. Point caves so the current goes across the opening rather than into it or over it.

Often a large water change with cooler water than the typical tank water will trigger them to spawn. This simulates a rainfall.

I have not personally bred plecos yet because I apparently suck at it. Every time I try, I fail. Lol. Miserably. But I have researched the crap out of it and have lots of friends who breed them like it is no sweat.

subscribing, I too have failed at breeding L200s though I tried current repositioning, various caves, temp drops. I once bought a relatively huge male and he immediately trapped a female, it was exciting by nothing happend after days of that. I believe I have both species mixed, but mainly the smaller kind...

What kind of temps were you running? I currently have 4 cave styles, 2 ceramic, one half log, and one "natural" cave created from jade stone. What were you using, all the info I can get is awesome!

I've bred this species but used hormone inducement and a lot of trial and error was involved (3-4 years). This fish generally goes for $800 - $1200 each in Australia. The more broodstock you have, the easier it will be to get breeding success.

How large was the brood you were using?

I plan on a long haul here. Will most likely be breeding bristle nose in one of my other tanks to "scratch the itch" in the duration.

That very interesting...I’ve never heard of using hormone inducement on plecos. Did you use Ovaprim or another hormone? Would you mind elaborating on the process?
