green phantom info?

just picked up a 4-6" green phantom to replace my gueen gold nugget and he looks awesome. need info : max size and eating habits would help. will get pics later.
 
Common Name: Green Phantom
Scientific: Ancistrinae gen. sp.
L #: L200
Temp: 72-80 F
pH: 6.5 - 7.2
Size: 20 cm or 8"
Found in: Brazil/Venezuela: Upper Rio Orinoco basin
Lighting: Subdued
Diet: Algae eater, also readily accepts veggies. Will also accept meaty foods.
Comments: These guys need places to hide, and are fairly timid, a very docile species. Coloration can range from dark green to bright green. Very slow grower.
 
I have two of these guys, and they are very active. My old one would never be out. These are one of my favorite species. One thing to watch is that they are not very tough. Water quality must be kept well, and ample hiding spots, to avoid fighting. My first green phantom went down to a pair of angelfish that decided to breed, and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hey 120 to me sounds like an awesome pleco tank just wating to happen. Blue phantoms are actually a smaller variety of pleco than the L200, by about 2 inches.
 
my lfs has 6" green phantoms for 45.99.... is that a good price i really want one but i dont know if i can get them cheaper:thumbsup:

:iagree: :headbang2 my old one loved cucumbers and bloodworm as a treat
 
My current ones will demolish any cucumber, zuc or sweet potato. Another treat I use is fresh mango that is really ripe. But do not leave this in for very long. They go absolutely nuts over it

That is a good price, especially for that size.
