My question is, when you here "Green Pike", what is the first species that comes to mind? I origonally thought Crenicichla compressiceps. But as I look around at the local stores, I find that opinions vary. At one store, I had a guy tellin me that "Green Pike" get over a foot long. I always thought they were a dwarf pike. Another store agreed with me on it being a dwarf. But anyways I ended up buying a "Green Pike" that is either a Crenicichla notophthalmus or regani. Cool little fish. It ate krill as soon as he was in the tank. Him and the alpha male convict went to town on each other for a minute but all is calm now.

Which one has the red outline on the dorsal fin ocelli, regani or notophthalmus?

These common names kill me. I'll post a pic once I resize it.
