I bought a baby ribsaw catfish labeled as “Green Ribsaw Catfish” they look just like baby ribsaw catfish other than there olive green color. Also had him for a month and it’s colors haven’t faded and the odd said there not dyed in any manner. Have any of y’all heard of a “green ribsaw catfish?”

Never heard it named that way but can have a green tinge and explains the name.

It is fathomable but probably the first time I hear of "ripsaw" to be applied to the Doradidae family. Talking catfish, armored catfish, thorny catfish - these I've heard but not ripsaw. I think this is the point of confusion.

There are many smaller family members in genus like Doras and Hassar and their colors vary but none of them I'd call green. A hard to see, non-obvious hue or a diet-related hue might be what's behind this particular marketing kink.

Post a photo.

Off it it a true rip saw referring to (Oxydoras niger) it would infact be a Oxydoras sofinois. I’ve seen an adult, (almost brought it myself , missed out) they keep the green ting. Youll notice the tail shape, head shape and eyes shape are diffrent to normal Oxydoras.

I do have a picture somewhere.
