I take it you mean Green severum, its scientific name is Heros efasciatus.

This is what I've gone by: Heros Severus (Severum)
I think they are a great cichlid , lot's of personality when there adults and easy to keep.

yah my friend got a tiny one and its cool. anytime sum1 goes in the room he comes to meet u. I was just having a hard time finding pics and/or profiles on them on google. I tred scientific name and it works thanks to both of u. Im off to bed now see yall later

They were put under three clasifications If I remember right. Hero's seems to be the agreed on genus but the sp is disputed even to this day.

Heros efasciatus and Heros Severus are two diffferent fish. The common pet trade "Green Severum" is the Heros efasciatus. I currently have a breeding pair of these. They are awesome graceful fish.

Always see the common green labeled as Heros appendiculatus
and

Heros efasciatus as the red lined varyiant
(but some places have combined both under efasciatus)


Heros severus is the Orinoco mouth brooding severum, bigger and more aggressive fish then common severums.
