I have 2.5 inch Green severum and a 3.5 inch Green Terror. Yesterday they cleaned off a piece of slate in the corner of my 135. Well, I noticed my GT was looking quite round but I thought that she was just well fed. Turns out she was full of eggs. She dropped them sometime last night. Now the GT and Severum are guarding the eggs. My question is, has anyone seen this before? Is it possible for these fish to crossbreed and produce young? How long does it take for infertile eggs to turn white? It's been 24 hours and they're all still amber colored. Also, is my severum even fertile at his 2.5 inch size?
BTW, measurements are estimates and don't include tail fin. Thanks everyone.

dont think they can cross breed imo, sometimes green terrors will lay eggs as a sign of growing up. but if it does hatch, that would be cool.

So seeing as how they're still amber they're fertile? Sounds good to me, I'll keep you guys posted. When do the eggs usually hatch?

But the faces on males, the mix of the snake pattern of a severum and the bright green of a terror! WOW! that would look nice!

The eggs went white... maybe they'll get it right next time!
