Green Severums breeding like crazy

In two weeks and at two times I seen eggs on the glass in the aquarium The first time, other fishes were eating the eggs. The second time, the two severums were trying to protect the eggs and were trying to push the other fishes away.

I have about 6 green severums about 7-8 inches in size. When they breed, they develop a bright orange color in their belly and they lighten in color.

I was wondering, is there any way they can protect their eggs better? I know they probably bred more because I seen a lot of lip locking and tail hitting in the past.

add hiding places so they can spawn there and they have a better chance... im planning on getting some severums but my lfs doesnt always have them

Or you could take out some of the aggressors...

or u can take out the fry and put them in a grow out tank

I have had similar problems with my JD's, they keep spawning but I never make it past the wiggler stage. Not such a problem for me as I don't have the time to raise fry right now.

But if you have other fish in the tank I would suggest (as above) either just taking them out and have a grow out tank or just divide up the tank.
