Came home tonite and my Sevs had laid eggs again - mom and dad are taking turns watching over them ( Last time eggs lasted 3-4days then gone ). I have a light left on one side of the tank so they won't get blind sided . I have a 10gal empty and cleaned out . Should I leave them and let the parents care for them/nature take its course (125gal with 3 angels , 3 Silver Dollars , BGK , featherfin cat , few cory cats and the Sev pair ) , take the eggs and put them in the 10gal or squeeze the parents and eggs in the 10gal for a week til I can set up a 20gal ( female is 5 in and male closer to 7 ) .

I think you should move the eggs to the 10 gal. By the way your tank sounds awesome. Can we see a pic?
Sorry don't have a recent full tank shot , but pics of the angels , BGK and sevs are here in other posts . this is the second breeding since I picked them up a few weeks ago and they have raised fry before .
it seems a good idea here would be to use a divider if u can get one. its easy to get one out of egg crate. that way the parents and eggs dont have to go through a move nd no one gets to the babies, they are alot less stressed if they dont have to fend of so many fish.

Seems they breed when I turn up the temp to over 80 . I found this out when I had a sick fish . So I tried it again - only thing I changed was the temp and next day -presto .

Just an update - again the mother ate the eggs on day 3 . Next spawn I will transfer the eggs to a 10 gal and try again .
Definately want to keep the angels away too. They are predators........ Fry predators and neon predators.
I don't think the Angels were a problem - the mom had the scared to the other side of the tank , they would not move. the Dollars tried their luck so did the BGK . But I did see mom eat the eggs .
Well they laid again overnite . This time I'll be taking the eggs out later tonite . I have the 10gal set up with a 1.5gal in it as the hatchery .
