Ok so i bought a breeding pair of severums to learn about breeding abit more and expand my knowledge more then a couple of convicts and guppies...haha and eventually hopefully make something out of it mabye make it more then just a hobbie over time who knows dream big as they say haha

Ok so they have laid aprox 100 to 250 eggs there was about 15 white infertale eggs i removed about 13 of them to stop them gettin yuuucky.. was this the right thing to do?
Ita been about 24hrs now so they have been fanning the tank still eating and very protective over the eggs attacks my hand when i go near it!
Ok so there in the sump of my 6x2x2 in a tank 36"x16"x16" the sump is a 6"x16"x22" with about 7 gallons of k1 alot of ceramic media and jap koi matt and filter floss etc
My question is are they going to be prone to eating the fry? Or can i raise them in the same tank? I have a 2ft with a ehiem 2215 on it but its has 2 l333 adults a male and a female will this be a problem i have a feeling they would be eaten? Im setting up a rack of 3 tanks 2x 3ft and 1x 2ft for fry for future broods as wasnt expecting them to breed this quick only got them 3 weeks ago lol
So i also wanna know what to recomend to feed and when? Powdered flakes or brine shrimp?
Cheers james any advice would be great cheers

Severums are great! You're going to have a lot of fun with them.

Any luck? Looking at the post date, I suspect that they eggs will have hatched by now.

BBS would be best to raise the fry.

Plecos could eat the eggs.

Any pics?

They are a proven pair so they are not new parents and will probably do a great job taking care of fry. Also fry may eat off the slime coat of the parents.☺
