I recently got two green stopped puffers and they will not eat anything but blood worms and small snails. I'd really like to be able to give them a nice variety of food but there sooo picky, maybe its just the ones I have, but does anyone know of any good foods?

snails are the best for them. they help to wear down the puffers teeth.

mine would eat any meaty food item. didnt like frozen bloodworm though... loved dried shrimp, and frozen seafood.

I don't have any suggestions, but I am looking at getting a dog face puffer. They are really great looking fish. Good luck with yours.

try frozen mussell cubes, frozen squid cubes, mysis shrimp cubes, krill on occasions. clams, mussells and shrimp from a grocery store. those are all things mine have available to eat and seem to love. the krill they arent too fond of but will eat it when i feed it, but dont give it too often it will cause lockjaw for the puffers. if you have a good sized LFS check out all the frozen foods they have to offer. one close to me has a huge variety of frozen foods and always seem to find something new to try out everytime i go there. ghost shrimp make a nice snack between meals too and its fun to watch the puffers chase them around

Lots of goodies in the fish dept of your grovery store. Try them all! Freeze overnight & then soak in tank water with liquid fish vitamins added. Be sure to gut-load those ghost shrimp or they're basicly non-nutritious. Try algae wafers, so your puffers get their veggies.

yeah definitely! im stopping at the pet store today to get a little bubbler filter for my little fish bowl i want to put most of the ghost shrimp in to gut load and a bunch of them are pregnant so i want a peaceful setting for them to have their babies. already have the algae wafers from when i had them in FW and had a pleco for a little while

i use a shisc o bob scewer in place what ever im feeding them in the tip (other than pond snails) if i wiggle it and make my GSP chase it he will eat if i just drop the food in the water it just sits there. they like to hunt.
