can't seem to get the vids embedded, but please click the link!:D

Do any of your puffers do the jumping, when food is at a nearby place?:naughty:

cute!

Is that shrimp cooked..it looks cooked..you should go for raw..

cute movies though...although I am a bit bothered...why not just take the blood worm off before the puff damages his teeth and nose?

sorry, I do not mean to be offensive..

Great videos, i miss being able to hand feed puffers, just a shame if i tried it now a days i'd probably lose the tip of my finger if not more...

But as a note, just watch out for your little guy jumping to get food, as he may end up taking in bits of air into his system which he may or may not be able to get out... otherwise, your puffers seem to be looking pretty good..,

I'm not offended.
The camera is allways at hand and i started to film right when i noticed him jumping.
I filmed the action, and indeed removed the bloodworm directly after i stopped my camera.
Thanx for your concern, though,purple.;)
i indeed would not want to see my fish hurt in any way.

Still looking for raw shrimp, although my puffers also eat the dryed variety.

@ Fat Homer: thanx for the advice , i hadn't thought of that.
I got the footage and i will not encourage them to jump.

About shrimp/prawn feeding, if your looking for raw shrimp, try buying the frozen kind in your supermarket then de-frosting it in a cup of tank water dosed with some (fish) vitamins...

Otherwise, i've read some where here that some one used to feed their fish partially cooked shrimp which was also dosed in vitamin water to make up for the lost nutrients...

Other alternatives you could also try are de-frosted mussels and scallops for a little variety if they will accept it...

Thanx. mate.
And the raw ones are for sale in the normal supermarket?
Now i feel stupid, but I;ll have a look soon.:nilly:
The hard shell from the shrimps can be fed as well, if i'm right?
I don't peel them before hand?

^ Yeah, just the frozen raw supermarket prawns are fine... just be sure to de-frost in a cup of tank water before feeding, and if you want to go one step further you can add some fish vitamin water for extra nutrients since prawns are mainly just water...

As for removing the shells, i guess it depends on the size of the puffer if you need to remove the shell... although over here in HK, most of the frozen prawns come de-shelled with the head removed so i've never had to deal with that problem...

Quote by Pufferpunk:"I gut-load (pre-feed) my live food with algae wafers, so my puffers get their veggies. I buy most of these foods at the fish department of my grocery store, freeze and later thaw in warm vitamin water as needed."

i seemed to have missed a couple of sentences, when i read the articles the other day.
Thanx, Pufferpunk.

btw testing my water pointed out that my cycle is finally complete, although i still have to raise the salinity some more.
Nitrites are back at 0, and nitrates where at 5 yesterday, 6 days after the last waterchange.
And my fish seem to have made it through, as the nitrite spike surely did worry me at the time, eventhough i was warned it may happen, when converting fw to brackish...
I'm at a SG of 1.010-1.012 at the moment.
