Green Sunfish sexing

Is there any ways to visually sex a green sunfish?

U of M says - Sexual Dimorphism=male more colorful.

Ive owned Greenies before and thought I had a male and female....it turned out to be both males, the dominant fish will color up more than the others; I don't know the size of your Green but when they start making a nest I would see the fringes on the fins turn more white and the blue on their gills brighten up on males.

Sorry , but the only way I know is to simulate winter and then spring conditions (very slowly making changes over a couple of weeks time) and then see if he/she makes a nest.
