Okay so i have 2 Green Sunfish, when i first put them in my tank, one of them would always, go to the bottom and fan the gravel with its tail, until there was a large crater. The other GS would always do this weird vibrating thing...i always thought they were going to breed...but????

So i was wondering...what kind of conditions would they need to breed?

Thanks alot, David.

Not much, they can tolerate a wide range of cinditoons so breeding shouldnt be much of a problem. Condition them well and do frequent large water changes, rasie the temp then drop some ice cubes in.

I do lots of water changes with them.
How would i go about raising the temp?

Empty half the tank and then fill it back up with warm water, and drop a few handfulls of ice cubes?
how many times should i do that? and how often?

Use your heater man!!! Raise the temp to 78-80 F. Then every day add 2 or so decent sized ice cubes. Feed them 3-4 times a day but in small amounts. Feed them quality foods with lots of B12 and Caroteens in them.

Well i dont have a heater..but ill take my dads...hes not using it.

Is my Four-lined pimelodus cat gonna cause any problems?
I know ill have to take him out when they lay eggs..

Eh, he should be fine. I have 3 3" plecs in with my cons and they never have eaten the eggs. In 3-4 months.

No matter what anyone thinks, I always advise using a heater. Even in Cali, the tank water can still drop below 70 depending on how your house is built/insulation/weather etc. Stay on the safe side a buy a new heater. Oh by the way, how big is your tank? and Dimensions.
