My Pictus cats always stayed at the top and in the corner which was not cool and now after like 3 weeks one disappeared. These were not super small or anything and the green terror is maybe only one inch longer than the cat he ate.
His belly seemed a little fuller than normal in the morning but not much. Then he started pooping and it was about 10x more than normal so I have little doubt he ate it.
I though they were supposed to be spiny or hard skinned or something.
Didn't expect it.

This doesn't surprise me, because my green terror mated pair give anyone else who's in the tank hell. Even if they are not spawning currently. Right now I have mine in a 55 by themselves because they have eggs so I'm hoping to raise my second batch of Green Terrors.

I only have one green terror and it is very peaceful to the other cichlids I have. They are young and the tank is a 225.
Additionally I have oscar
jack Dempsey
green and gold severum
salvini
tiger barbs (a couple disappeared)
giant danios
2 more pictus

I find it surprising that a green terror would eat a decent sized pictus.
I have an 8 maybe 9 inch male and 5, 6inch female green terrors.I keep a group of pimlodus blochi and 20 or so brochis splendens in the same tank. The green terrors have never tried to eat any of them.
Did you see this happen?maybe the pictus died and was eaten after?

I did not see it. I doubt it just died (he was eating well and growing) but it could have been killed and then devoured but I found no bones. I found it hard to believe also but I have seen him go after them and something about the way he hits and bites looks devastating compared to the rest of my fish.

My male is down right nasty. I really wish he would get along with my other cichlids so I could devote my 55 to just eels and bichirs, but my green terrors are just too mean. Especially right now, due to my female having just laid eggs. No one else is with them though, so they can't hurt anyone else. However I did have a synodontis catfish in there and they were beginning to beat him up weeks before the female laid her eggs. That's really the only reason that it didn't surprise me that yours ate your pictus mike37909.
