So I just bought a 2inch little male terror it was an impulse by... I couldn't help it :] Hes got good colors, long fins and is even got a bit of a bump starting. I already have a female GT by herself in a 55 shes about 4 1/2in and I don't think hes ready so I'm keeping him in a 30g till he gets alitttle size on him. Is there's anything I can feed him to speedup his growth? I've heard GTs are slow growers. Also I want him to have a big bump on his head, I think there so cool... Is there any special foods, vitamins anything. Or is it just all breeding?

Right now I've been feeding my female Hikari cichlid staple, Xtreme cichlid diet, omega1 frozen bloodworms and super carnivore

Will this keep my boy going in the right track? This is my first male terror and I want him to be a little bad*ss.

I agree...GT's are cool. I bought mine four weeks ago, and it's grown over 1/2" so far. I feed mine Hikari pellets, dried blood worms, brine shrimp and spirulina flakes.

they dont grow as slow as some people seem to say. you can attain an inch a month with good genetics on your side but the rest is up to you. feed a varied diet, i used a good pellet, frozen bloodworm, hikari algae wafers, crickets and mealworms. i also did a large water change weekly.
as your tank is smaller i would do two 30-50% water changes per week.

my current GT eats hikari cichlid gold, bloodworm, earthworm sticks, spirulina sticks, garli/paprika bits. the tank he is in gets a 50-70% water change weekly.

I have a GT male who is about 5" now. I would say he is a fairly fast grower, not quite oscar growth but not too far behind. I read somewhere about them having issues with internal paracites that can slow growth.. but not sure how true that is.
I feed mine a varied mix of high quality pellets and frozen bloodworm.
So far he is not agressive at all, and gets on very well with his tank mates.

feed him beef heart around 3 times a week. this will make him grow noticably faster! like you'll go to bed and when you wake up he'll be as big as a car

Awesome thanks guys! I can't wait till he gets big enough to live with my female. Hopefully they get along but shes really mean to my pleco, so who knows. Can you buy beef heart at the grocery store?

How's the lil male doing?

as for beef hearts i belive you can get them in a meat packing place, maybe at a grocery store
