My gt is in mt 55 with 3 firemouth x convict hybrids. All under 3". I recently got a small convict and firemouth in hopes of getting another hybrid pair. Since then my gt stopped accepting his tankmates and picking em off. What should I do?

I think a larger tank is the answer. Mine is only 3ft long but it is also 3ft deep. Also, me having 6 of them reduces aggro, but you'll need a larger tank to overstock IMO. I personally treat TGT's differently to saums. They are far more aggro and to be honest there may be nothing you can do to stop it. Andy (my large male) is forever chasing and nipping the others. Even dithers and overstocking hasn't stopped it. So I personally think its a personality thing.

You may need to decide on which fish(es) you want to keep...

IMO your overstock for a 55 gallon tank. even being at 3 inches thats alot of fish for such a small tank. A 55 gallon is barely big enough for a GT by himself let alone for a GT, 3 firemouths and a convict. Lighten you stock or get a bigger tank. With that stock in a 55, the aggression levels just going to get worse :(

That is just temperary till I finiish combining my two other 55s to make a 8' 110. The only other tank I have running right now is my 30 community

Is it the Saum in your AV?

I agree with the others that this just won't work long term.

Are you connecting the two 55's or just setting them up next to each other? If you haven't bought them already, you might consider doing two 75's instead.

can you explain the combining 55 gallons to me? and how do you plan on sealing this thing?

just curious because i would be interested in mating my 2 125 gallons together if it is do able

No its not this is a pic of it with one of hybrids he killed.

Im cutting a side panel off both and joining them to make one tank. I have the 55s already and dont really have alot of money to invest in a large tank so imma just build mine. Its not long term like I said . Im wainting on the trim to come in then imma finish it.

Do you think hes being so aggressive toward his tankmates cause hes ready to mate? Cause hes lived with them for 2 weeks or longer with no problem.
