Hi.. My green terror is twitching like he's trying to shake his digestion up.
Can you tell me from the pics if he may have bloat.?
I've had him 2 days and haven't seen him poop yet.
May be nothing but thought I'd be safe and ask here :)
Thanks.

Looks a bit. Try some Epsom salt at a 1 tbsp per 5g. Re-eval the poop. Would hold feedings just a couple of days but not indefinitely if it shows interest in eating and the poop looks normal.

Thanks I'll get some Epsom salts on my way home from work.
Read about Epsom salt baths... As I have 63gal, would it be better to do a bath rather than salt in the tank?

Better to add to the tank.

Got home last night and he had a long string of poop so didn't need to use the Epsom salts.
Maybe he was bloated from the move to his new home.
I may do a small dose of Epsom salts once a month or so just for general gut health. Thanks for your help

These guys would do better with a diet that had more aquatic vegetable matter, similar to a pleco. They are easy to overfeed on a high protein diet. I would mix in something like New Life Spectrum Algaemax for a few days a week when feeding them.

The poo wasn’t white though, was it? You want to be sure it doesn’t have any internal parasites.

He is a beautiful little guy btw.

No it was red like his food
Thanks.. I'm hoping he will grow to be pretty impressive! He's already a bully so he already has the characteristics!
That poop BTW... Probably ended up about 15cm long! Ha!

Thanks.. Im now mixing it up to prevent this happening again and potentially being more fatal next time.
I have left over Malawi food which they sometimes nibble on. Also tried the green peas which went down well.
