Hey ppl.. i have a couple of green terrors, 2.5" to 3".. they were showing signs of breeding.. gill flaring.. lip locks etc.. then both their genital papilla dropped.. i had placed a pot in there and now i can see eggs.. the thing is i don't know if they are a true pair.. the GT guarding the eggs seems to be chasing away the other cichlid.. now do i infer both are female GTs??? Don't both the parents usually guard the eggs? (i've dropped another pot in.. if i find more eggs i guess both are female GTs.. ) lil confused :) would appreciate some comments.. cheers..

Post pics so we can help you determine their sex... Usually the female guards the eggs while the male protects the area the eggs are inn...

I heard that males will only be allowed near the eggs if there's other fish in the tank.

Either way, sometimes one parent can start attacking the other and even kill it if they feel they're a treat to the eggs. I've seen male GT kill the female and take care of the eggs himself lol
