I was cleaning out my camera memory card, and discovered old photos of my GT brotherhood. I didn't download these photos before because I didn't think they were good enough due to out of focus background fish. Now I like them and feel nostalgic because shortly after I took these photos, I sold the little brothers and keep only the biggest brother as the breeder. These GT brothers were raised from fry in the same tank. They got along well until they reached 7 to 9 inch, too crowded in a 75 gal. They started to jockey for dominance, locked jaw from time to time to challenge the pecking order, and as they quarelled more often, I decided to thin them out. I guess if I moved them to a 125 gal, they would get along as GT are only mildly aggressive and can be kept in an all male colony.

Here is a video of the brotherhod tank, again, not the best focus one but shows the dynamic of the brotherhood.

I love me some Gold Saums.

My favorite fish and for the first time in 5 years I am not keeping any. Thinking I need to upgrade my Tropheus to a 125g and put a beautiful male like in your video/pictures into the 75g. Like you said for the most part the domestic bred Gold Saum isn't all that aggressive and such a stunning fish when mature.

Yes, I raised over 150 fry from the big male and sold all of them except for a few myself. They are about 3 to 4 inch and already pairing and I had to separate the sex. Preventing early breeding promotes faster growth and keeping males together promotes earlier hump formation due to competition. This time I will keep more fish in a bigger tank and see how it goes.
